Taking a tour of my kitchen for Christmas is when the holiday season gets real for me. This is the heart of every home, and mine is no exception.
Every year I get a tad better at balancing decor with function, especially when adding touches of Old Saint Nick.
Take a good look please because it is my hope, plan and wish; that these cabinets and kitchen get a new look during the coming winter months. I am talking new molding, new colors and a new vent hood. Plus that backsplash I have been needing.
I have a tray next to the kitchen sink that holds the my dish soap, sponge, and scrubbers. In case you have never seen a tour of my kitchen, I utilize bathroom accessories in my kitchen, I like using them much better then anything else I have tried over the years. The tray is actually supposed to be used with two square serving bowls, but sadly those walked off years ago. So I repurposed the tray for my sink area.
On the opposite side of the sink I have started using a bathroom hand towel holder and love it.
No more wet towel draped on the counter, or over a cabinet door. That has never been something I liked.
I have the kitchen table set with a snack with coffee or plenty of dishes to eat some baking goods with.
My cookbooks got dressed up in wrapping paper this year. I loved the way it helped unify my color scheme.
I only added touches of gold, silver, white along with small touches of black to tie into the cabinets.
My baking station is all set for a huge cookie making day. Cakes too, but I make those closer to the big dinner on Christmas Eve.
I added some touches to the coffee bar too. I found the most aromatic and delicious red velvet coffee at TJ Maxx this year and have at least one cup every morning since. I'm going to need more soon!
It's that good. So if ya see it, buy yourself some.
You'll be glad you did.
I started my kitchen by decorating the tree, so that dictated my silver, gold and black theme.
I added every single dripping icicle I owned too, It counteracts the black really well.
I took the shades of my chandelier. They may stay off. I am liking the more modern look they're giving off.
Well, I hope you liked the pictures and enjoyed seeing a look into my kitchen this holiday season.
Merry Christmas to you and yours!
