Well, yesterday was a productive day! I had a weirdo episode (again), LiveWriter finally started working again, (Thank you microsoft! and G+ for working things out) and the sun came out so I could snap some pic's of whats blooming.
My delphiniums are about to burst open, and they are huge. This is their third year and I am anxious to see them open!
This spot below is up against the house, and the bed does ok, but most of these plants need to be moved. The sump pump pipe underneath this bed needs fixing (pipe joint came apart last winter).
Plus, I think my oakleaf hydrangea would appreciate a better location. He doesn't seem to be doing so good. I pruned him 2 years ago, and last year I don't think I had any blooms.
I thought on an oakleaf would sprout flowers on old wood and new sprouts would only do leaves. I'll have to do some research to find out. I am having Gardeners brain fart.
Wine and roses weigela bush against a yellow evergreen.
I think this flower is called speedwell. I planted about 9 of them last year. 3 in my front yard and 6 in this bed.
My peony I planted (also last year) has one bloom. But I expected that. It was a small tuber, so I half expected it not to bloom.
I have such an issue with trying to get peonies to bloom. My garden beds are pretty decent in soil type because of the kitchen scraps I give them, so things have a tendency to sink. And as you know a peony is incredibly picky about their planting depth.
At last count I think I have 5 different bushes that never bloom so I have to dig them up and re-plant them higher.
But it's worth it wouldn't you say?
Rondo Beardstongue -
I planted these last year also and am loving the view out my kitchen window now. They add such a pretty pop of color.
More speedwell nestled next to the beardstongue, with a white peony straining for attention.
She is getting ready to pop open, so I can't wait.
This is the view I see from my kitchen window and I love it.
I lost another lantern due to the windy city showings its charm again. You'd think I'd learn by now to take all the glass out and replace it with plexi, but noooo.
I keep trying to have lanterns on my porch.
Oh the weirdo episode? Yeah, some guy named Paul D. is trying to to get me into a google hangout. He wants to know more about me. I am seriously rolling my eyes at these damn horn dogs.
Since when did google plus become a dating site? and why can't these men read!?! I am listed as married, hello! I am going to ignore the email but last night when I got it?
I almost replied back "You're barking up the wrong tree horn dog, go woof somewhere else."
I am going to post a horrid picture of myself with a wart on my nose, maybe that'll make them go away.
XO,
