Setting a fall tablescape using the colors of the season is so easy. The gorgeous colors, textures. Leaves!
Don’t even get me started on the smells. Apple cider, pies, bonfires…..
I almost tried to set a campfire type tablescape on this table. For a s’mores table. But I had to use my new dishes I got a HG. First thing first!
The hardest part for me to do this tablescape, was to leave it until the sun came out. I think mother nature knows when I need her and takes a break sometimes.
The second reason I set this table, was to use the squirrels again. I wanted to pay tribute to our family fur baby Shadow. She loved to window watch the squirrels outside after she got too old to chase them.
We lost her on Wednesday due to sudden illness. The sack around her heart had filled with fluid and was so enlarged it was pushing against her esophagus. X-rays showed, just how much trouble and pain she was in.
“G” and I had no choice but to put our beautiful fur baby down.
R.I.P. Shadow,
1/2007 to 9/2015
So I am focusing on the good and the pretty that she did for us and this table is a tribute to that.
In 2007 Shadow woke me up at 4 am, growling and barking very low and rather unnervingly. After 10 minutes of her nudging me I finally got up & she bolted toward to the back door.
Long story short, the neighbors garage was on fire and she was trying to warn us. I ran out to wake up the neighbor, while hubby called the fire department.
Later that evening when I returned home from work, there was a large ziplock bag filled with T Bones waiting for her.
The elderly neighbor wanted to show his gratitude.
So this is for her….
The dishes I found at HomeGoods and couldn’t wait to use them. I love the traditional pattern with the modern shape.
It gave me a great color pattern for this table.
Thank you so much for your dropping by and I hope you enjoyed it.
XO,
Christine
