Halloween is one of those few times people can feel free to be a bit freaky, spooky or just plain weird. Tablescaper's feel the very same way. It's nice to slip out of your comfort zone and place a dead man's skull on your dinner table isn't it? When I was lucky enough to come across a gaggle of small orange votives for cheap, I let them jump in my cart and come home with me. Bringing out the orange for Halloween seems too easy for me but I got to use my Orange Fire King. Which I trade in a heartbeat for the blue but I digress! I also came across some skulls for about 2 dollars a piece so those just followed the trail I left and followed me home too. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I'm all setup with Reese's cups for trick or treaters. Should they not show up, I however, am fully prepared to throw myself on the proverbial sword and eat them all. Happy Halloween! ...
Fall Tablescape with texture Creating a fall tablescape today with lots of texture using brown, purple and white. All of this seems so ironic to me though. Especially considering it snowed here yesterday. If you're yelling that it is too early, I am right there with ya. It didn't accumulate, but it sure was shocking to walk outside and get hit with snow. Home Depot is still selling mums, so you can see the irony I hope. Especially since I almost bought more plants. They have perennials for 5 bucks! Hydrangea shrubs....5 bucks! If I wasn't deep in planning mode for the holidays and "past" Gardening, I would have literally loaded up the truck, I have had these napkins so long I almost forgot where I bought them. It was Pier 1 many years ago. I always try to use them, but the pattern doesn't always work well. I think these have literally been washed once, that's how much they've been used. I used two different placemats. I have been thinking about......
Hi Friends, so glad you stopped by. I started playing around with neutral colors and white dishes for a pretty Fall Table. Hope you like it! The cooler temps have turned my boiler system on and so ends another gorgeous hot season. Our night time temps have dropped down in the 30's but daytime's are still around 50's. Rumor has it Michigan got snow. Using my every day bone china and some Napkins found at Target 4 to 5 years ago I made a fast fall table using little baby pumpkins anyone can find at the grocers. The white wood pumpkins are from Hobby Lobby and were only 4 bucks each so go grab some! I brought out my orange glass candle holders and a pinecone - raffia pumpkin. I cannot remember where I got this pumpkin, maybe Tuesday Morning or HomeGoods? I found it years ago also. Seems like it really has to be something special now for me to put it in my cart. I am finding out I can do Seasonal without buying all new dishes. Just mix up the napkins, candles and miscellan......
Fall Tablescape This post may contain sponsored or affiliate links. Hi friends, I hope your having a wonderful week. I sincerely hope you and your family are not being affected by any of the gunfire or storms that have erupted so far this week. Trying to at least color my little corner of the world, I played with some color in the Dining Room. Using purples, oranges and some picked oakleaf hydrangea stems I created purplicious Fall table. The dishes were bought two years ago at HomeGoods. I like them, but for some reason don't really use them a lot. They just seem perfect for Fall and that's it. I know they would work perfectly other times of the year but in my heart they seem to only fit this season. Strange isn't it? They don't even have anything specific that dictates they only get used in Fall. I found a cute Hayrides and Cider Farm Pillow at Homegoods too and that followed me home a couple weeks ago. Everything else on this table I have had with the exception o......
Neutral Fall Tablescape Setting a Fall Table Setting really can brighten any rainy day. We are getting the last remnants of a tropical storm. The rain is good, because we need it. Plus it gets me back inside. I have seriously been neglecting my dust and vacuum duties. Between day to day stuff, helping my niece and her new home and getting in my baby time with her new Son. I mean seriously, look at that adorable face! Plus tending to my yard, enlarging flower beds, buying more mulch, I have been taking naps whenever I can! So looking back at this table is relaxing for me. The softer color palette that still says Fall. If I remember correctly I got the small leaf plates from the Target Dollar Bin last year. I plopped some hydrangeas down into an oil can Greg brought home. Watching my niece work so hard in her new home makes me revitalized when it comes to DIY projects. I am anxious to bust a hole in my dining room wall where the clock is. But it's load bearing, so I w......
