Starting the day out with some nice color seems a good way to put a smile on your face doesn't it?
Today we are having some epic weather, so I am outside as we speak, enjoying it!
Ok enjoying it may be a stretch. I am cleaning out my front flower beds. I did not do a lot of cleaning or pruning last Fall, so I could have winter interest this year.
The metal sign above was a five dollar purchase from Jo Anne's last week. Not sure if it will end up on outside or somewhere in the house but it's metal.
It made my little heart go pitter patter. So home with me it came.
I also got some seeds started. I actually did it. I say I am going to every year but never do. Well this year I got it done.
I am starting to see sprouts but due to the lack of sunlight, they are looking a bit scraggly. So I will grabbing one of hubby's spot lights to see if I can help them out a bit.
That way I don't have to buy a heating mat or a grow light.
If I ever am able to have a 10' x 12' all glass type green house, then I will pop for more seed sprouting equipment, but for my now, my kitchen table has to suffice.
I started lettuce, corn, basil, poppies, sunflowers, pumpkins and carrots. Want to hear the funny part? I am only growing the carrots for centerpieces on my table. I hate carrots.
Hubby might eat them, but who knows. Last time I tried to get him out of his food comfort zone, he said color played a big factor in his food choices and green was not one of them.
I know, I rolled my eyes too!
If I get some time I will take some pictures and share the seeds sprouting and the birdhouse we made out of a rustic box I had.
I just have to carve some time away from baby shower prep and chores.
Have a great day!
