Hi friends, setting a gorgeous black and white table today using things from around the house and some gorgeous boxwood wreaths I've had. It demonstrates how you can use the same dishes over and over on a table and get a completely different look with little fuss! I had a small intimate birthday party for Greg with just family and decided to see if the same dishes I had in last weeks table, could be used for a different table this week. He stressed he wanted it to be no fuss and easy and everything I suggested cooking was too much work, so we agreed on just picking up two large pizzas from our favorite bar and grill and calling it a day. The large black and gold candle holder used to be in the living room. I was surprised to find I don't own a lot of black accessories for this color scheme of table unless you count the rug on my front porch. Which I almost grabbed, I will be honest! Hubby's party went off without a hitch and he got some loot he loves. Our oldest daughte......
Spring decor tablescape Playing with texture, soft colors and my cellphone camera. So let's see what trouble we can get into today shall we? Who needs wine? I know I would love a glass of red. We just got back from a birthday party for my sister and we helped her celebrate her 50th. It was hosted by my niece (her daughter) in her new home. I am anxious to take some photos of her home because she just finished installing her wood floors in half her house. and I mean that literally. She installed them. So damn proud of this woman, I cannot even begin to tell you. I found some footed bowls that I needed to add to my ultimate white dish collection from HomeGoods. Four dollars each was hard to pass up! The napkin rings are imitation leather from the Target Dollar Bin. I don't remember where I got the moss bunnies from. But where ever I got them I bet it was cheap. I am thinking it was Tuesday Morning a few years ago. Can you tell I was playing with my camera phone again? I......
Spring Decor Dreary weather or sunny weather, I am calling it time to start adding some spring color around the house. So I am starting in the Dining Room. I brought out new napkins I found and paired them with one of my favorite Spring decor items, concrete bunnies. I found two more to add my collection. These are just 2 sweet playful creatures, that would make any table or vignette say Spring. I stacked some purple and white dishes I have had for 3 maybe 4 years now. All of them bought at HomeGoods. I used coffee mugs and some small juice glasses so this can be a nice coffee chat or a Southern girls breakfast. Still playing with the settings on my camera phone also, and loving it. I have come to the decision that I will not need to buy a second camera due to my old one malfunctioning. My phone is doing great! A nice long chat with friends is just what this rebel needs trapped in yankee territory. This weather has been so snow filled and icy, it's hard to believe Spring is onl......
Rustic Tablescape with French Flair If you're like me, staying inside to get chores done and find that you need to play a bit and make one spot in your home nice to look at, then you're in the right spot! My dining room has changed drastically, but seeing this tablescape makes me truly believe that the classics never go out of style and that should be a trend for every year. Using a demi-john, tulips and candles, I had in other parts of my home, I did a beautiful vignette in the Dining room. I think it turned out to be a beautiful french flair table with rustic touches. I hope you like taking this look back at how this room looked, so cozy up and let's take a walk back into the past. So I just grabbed a few things and started playing. A demi john I actually found at a thrift store before they became popular. A rusted metal crate, and various bits and bobs scattered around. No rhyme or reason, just the Spring season My walls and chairs have definitely evolved in......
Farmhouse Tablescape for everyday Let's have a nice farmhouse sit down dinner shall we? We can eat and enjoy a nice long leisurely meal at the table and make a nice memory. When is the last time you sat for hours and chatted it up with friends around the table? If it's been awhile, then let's do it right now. The broken clock in my dining room is there because time stands still in here. There is never any rush to just get through it. Dishes, chores and the outside world can wait. I kept this table casual because it's about the memories. The catching up and laughter we'll share. The sarcasm and the shoulders when needed. When the sun shines in my dining room, it always makes me feel like everything is going to be ok. No matter what is troubling me, it is always so calming to see the rays of sunshine in this room. Organizing is still going on around my house. I do it in stages, so it does not overwhelm or clutter my house or my schedule. The best thing about not w......
