Shopping for Antiques |  Shopping for rusty treasures and antiques is my favorite way to spend a hot and humid day. So let me show you another wonderful store where I shop for local treasures. This place to me is great. They are almost always open, especially on Sundays. Which here in the bible belt is a miracle. No this is not a sponsored post, I just thought maybe you'd like to see some of my local haunts and Rusty Rooster Antiques is one of them. When I say local, to me that means within an hour and a half. I generally won't drive more then 90 minutes to a new junk or antique store unless I know the price point up front. I can stay home and watch re-runs instead of being flabbergasted at someones deranged idea of what they can gouge people for. RRA seems right in line with other antique stores in the area. I saw a lot of goodies, had my wallet allowed, I would have the back of my SUV packed full!  Let me take you on a nice tour. Sometimes I hate it when I am in pictu......

Junkin in NW Indiana One thing I love about Summer is the junkin trips we can take. So let me share with you the last one we did and I'll show you the goodies I found.  This place is called Green Oaks Antiques and they recently had what they called a yard sale. Almost everything was on sale, especially the items found in the yard.   This place was decent sized and had some good treasures. They also had so stuff made to LOOK like it was old. Which is a big pet peeve to "G". So it was up to the buyer to distinguish the two.  But I still had fun! At first it was easy to maneuver around, the place was crowded. Apparently they only have this sale once a year. But once I got inside, it was much harder to shop and take pictures. I had to put my phone down in order to be a good customer. I would have ended up stepping on someone or having a ton of photos with strangers in them. So, I didn't get a ton of pictures but I did get the outside. Once I got inside I found a couple ......

A couple of weeks ago we went out on a Sunday and hit an Antique Store in Warsaw Indiana. The Indiana Antique Mall And no this is not a sponsored post, just a day out with hubby doing what I like. Meandering. I took a lot of pictures, but these are some of the highlights. A Printers Cabinet that also had, the typeset letters with it.  I may have the name of this cabinet wrong, but I have never seen one with the metal letters still inside the drawers. I can't remember the price, but it cabinet itself was less than $400.00 I am not going to talk too much, so you can just take a virtual tour with me. I almost bought that breadboard. But it was so big, I knew it would only fit on a table or on the wall. Not on the kitchen counters. The green planter above is hard to tell, but it was almost 5 feet tall.  That's another thing I am wishing I bought. I wasn't to sure this desk below was an antique but I loved the finish on it.  Very Restoration Hardware like! They had a lot of ol......
