Christmas Porch Decorating
Hi guys! I cannot begin to tell you how much I am loving the pops of red I have been adding to the front porch this year. No worries my purple fans, I am not forgetting my all time favorite color.
I am just putting forth all my purpleness in the living room.
On a huge scale this year.
So the front porch got my grandma's favorite color. Red. I actually bought some of the pops of red last year, knowing red was going to make it's way somewhere eventually.
I am glad I did! Greg and I were talking about our outdoor lighting plan and he suggested putting the large wreath on the porch behind the rockers.
You are going to hate to hear this but that large wreath is about 48" tall.
And I paid $5.00 for it at a garage sale 7 years ago.
Yep. 5 bucks and it was already lit up with lights too. The lady said she was downsizing and needed to get rid of it. You talk about being in the right place at the right time. Of course it was in June or July, so not a lot of people were buying holiday stuff. But for 5 bucks, I was not going to pass it up!
I almost didn't deck out the outdoor chandelier.
But a quick run to the local grocery store and I had enough cheap red ornaments to hot glue and insert into the empty globes. I swagged the swing arms with real greenery I bought at Costco.
Every year I have a wreath on my door and with all the wreath's on the windows and now this large one 4 feet away from the front door, it seemed like circle overload.
So I played with some large pinecones and faux greenery for my front door. I think it turned out really nice if you like 5 minutes Christmas crafts.
Mr. Nutcracker finally made his way off my dining table and to his new holiday spot.
I wanted to add something unusual to my front porch, so I opted for a reindeer picnic.
I hope Rudolph and Blitzen like coffee and French Vanilla syrup in it. I found a yummy looking pack of Red Velvet Coffee at TJMaxx today, so tomorrow morning I am going to be sipping cake baby.
I can hardly wait.
I moved the large galvanized can to the front of the house and added some fresh greenery, my favorite orb and wired a lantern inside it.
That's it for the porch. I am making the final touches to my living room and dining room this week also.
I may do both those rooms in one post, instead of dividing up each room individually. I haven't made up my mind yet.
So stay tuned!
