Christmas Lights Lighting up our home for Christmas is something I look forward too every holiday. I can honestly say we have inspired our neighborhood too. When we moved in, no one had lights outside. Now about 5 other houses are joining in by stringing lights outside and I love it! If I had my way, our neighborhood would be completely filled and there'd be a group tour of our holiday spirirt! Icicle lights are strung all around the perimeter of our home. This is what kicked off my lighting urge. Then we do the porch and decide how far to go from there. Last year we added a family of life sized deer. Which proved to be a bit high maintenance due to the windy conditions we keep getting. Greg had to use tent stakes to reinforce "Dad" because the spot I allocated for him, apparently is a wind tunnel. Sorry honey. He also swags the fence on the inside of our property and lines the garden beds with lights as well! I tried holding out for snow to get some really sweet loo......

Christmas Porch Decorating   Hi guys! I cannot begin to tell you how much I am loving the pops of red I have been adding to the front porch this year. No worries my purple fans, I am not forgetting my all time favorite color. I am just putting forth all my purpleness in the living room. On a huge scale this year.  So the front porch got my grandma's favorite color. Red. I actually bought some of the pops of red last year, knowing red was going to make it's way somewhere eventually.  I am glad I did! Greg and I were talking about our outdoor lighting plan and he suggested putting the large wreath on the porch behind the rockers.  You are going to hate to hear this but that large wreath is about 48" tall. And I paid $5.00 for it at a garage sale 7 years ago. Yep. 5 bucks and it was already lit up with lights too. The lady said she was downsizing and needed to get rid of it. You talk about being in the right place at the right time. Of course it was in June or July, so ......

Outdoor Christmas Decorations |   Christmas decorating outside the home is a bit more challenging to me. I always face a few dilemmas that if I don't tackle them, they irk me. The first one is I am not a blow up doll person as far as holiday decorating goes. My kids are grown and even if they weren't I still would not buy blow up decorations. They are cute and all, but my style is bit more adult. They just are not my style. If you have ever seen a 100 deflated Christmas elves all laying flat in someone's yard, you probably understand. It looks like some kind of comical holiday massacre. Hey! Now that would be a fun holiday vignette for men wouldn't it? Imagine 20 or so, deflated reindeer with a giant G.I. Joe pointing a plastic rifle at them. Or an Elmer Fudd statue dressed in camouflage going hunting. Now that's an idea for the backyard A holiday hunting spree. Christmas Decorations to make at Home Hi guys! I wanted to share an idea I had for soe outdoor Christmas decorations. I started browsing about a month ago and was shocked at the prices. Plus I don't know if I even need to mention this out loud but I am not a blow up decor kinda gal. It's not my style to have a plastic Rudolph sitting in my yard. Pisser would have a fit.  Also, because if I were to buy the items I conjure up in my blonde brain, I'd pay a fortune and hubby works cheap. Plus I don't have to pay for shipping!  I scrounged around in our scrap pile and found some more of that industrial shelving Greg brought home, and we cut it up to make a Christmas tree.    I asked him to use other items we already had on hand like metal washers and a piece of re-bar. Mainly because if my idea went from epic to hair brained, I didn't want to say it cost us any money.  I could just shrug it off and say "ehh I was bored". I asked Greg to make notches in......
