Halloween is one of those few times people can feel free to be a bit freaky, spooky or just plain weird. Tablescaper's feel the very same way. It's nice to slip out of your comfort zone and place a dead man's skull on your dinner table isn't it? When I was lucky enough to come across a gaggle of small orange votives for cheap, I let them jump in my cart and come home with me. Bringing out the orange for Halloween seems too easy for me but I got to use my Orange Fire King. Which I trade in a heartbeat for the blue but I digress! I also came across some skulls for about 2 dollars a piece so those just followed the trail I left and followed me home too. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I'm all setup with Reese's cups for trick or treaters. Should they not show up, I however, am fully prepared to throw myself on the proverbial sword and eat them all. Happy Halloween! ...
Halloween Party Ideas | Holiday Entertaining for Halloween | With Oingo Boingo's song playing in my earbuds I am really getting in the Halloween Spirit. This is one of my all time favorite songs and if you could see my playlists in ITunes you'd know it wasn't a trick. I don't know what it is with the song "Dead Man's Party", but after hearing it? I want to go buy 100 plastic snakes and make a medusa style headband and just wear it. Every. Single. Day. That'd be fun wouldn't it? I wouldn't have to worry about getting hit by the grocery cart natzi's. People would get out my way! I used the same dishes I had on the table from a previous tablescape. I (again) wanted to prove that one could get done without a ton of fuss. I added some black and copper color......
Halloween Tablescape | Dead Man's Party | My first ever spooky halloween tablescape. It feels kinda fun to step out of my rustic comfort zone and do something fun. I did some hunting around town couple of weeks ago hoping to be able to do a budget kind of thing for a halloween table. You know, similar to a dollar store halloween table? Well 3 dollar stores later, I got nada. They were low on anything halloween and anything inspirational. So these little spooky guys, an the potion bottle were found at Target. I also got a little bag of skulls in a bag and put them in the centerpiece. The little guys sitting on the plates are actually a happy accident. While making the table, I just put on little guy down on the table and he landed in a sitting position. My original plan was to make some sort of hang mans noose. And use dog hair as tumbleweeds. Ok I may be reaching a bit on the tumbleweeds. But I'll figure something out for the next one. XO, Also, if you're looking for ......
