I started thinking last week that I needed to do a tablescape for Valentine's Day. That was my first thought.
My second thought was, how can I do it for less money….
or better yet not spending any money!
Now I could have ran out and bought several low cost things to really amp up this table. I could have searched for the right heart shaped dessert plates and added candies and bought pink candles or red roses.
Which would have spawned into new candlesticks and then decided that I needed new napkins which would have spiraled into a new table runner.
But if I buy stemware and dishes that I can use everyday or holiday...
why should I spend money at all.
When would I use heart shaped dessert plates again? Christmas or Easter?
That would be a no.
But can I use the red goblets again….
Definitely yes!
The napkins and table runner….another definite yes.
White dishes….
anytime!
and also….
who says it has to be red or pink?
Last year I had milk chocolate on the brain, so I set a milk chocolate table….
you can see that one here.
Because to me….
Valentine’s Day
or
every day
is for spending it with who
you love
not what you spent to decorate the table.
XO,
Christine
