Christmas Entertaining with over 20 Holiday Tablescapes I am so excited to kick off the holiday season with a quick and elegant Christmas Tablescape that makes my holiday entertaining easy. Because shouldn't some things be easy this time of year?  So spending hours doing a holiday table should make the naughty list.   If your house is anything like mine right now, you have one room somewhere filled with christmas bins. So many that if you are a long time reader you know I call these bins "Thing 1" and "Thing 2". And "Crap 1" & "Crap 2". The number goes all the way up to 15 now. Yes, I bought more to indulge my holiday hoarding. Bins filled with greenery, ribbon, ornaments, all sorted by color or category. Or tripping hazard as my husband says.  So having a fussy table filled to the brim that makes your guests wonder if there is room for them? Not my style. But having 15 bins filled with Christmas decorations, tucked away in the basement? ......

Holidays are just around the corner can you believe it? I can! Who is ready for some delicious turkey and tons of family and friends at your table? Yeah, I am not ready either. Luckily my sister is hosting Thanksgiving this year, so I am actually concentrating on decking my home out for the holidays. I know I am early in doing it. But I don't care. Everyone always complains about how hectic this time of year is, but not me. Why? Cause I get started early. I want to be sitting on as* with my family from Thanksgiving to Christmas instead of spending hours in long lines, rushing around and being cranky or worse. Tired! Now don't put me up on a pedestal. Holiday Inspiration  It's time to start getting inspired for the upcoming holidays! With Halloween over I am all about entertaining. Halloween Tablescape | Dead Man's Party |   My first ever spooky halloween tablescape. It feels kinda fun to step out of my rustic comfort zone and do something fun. I did some hunting around town couple of weeks ago hoping to be able to do a budget kind of thing for a halloween table.  You know, similar to a dollar store halloween table?  Well 3 dollar stores later, I got nada. They were low on anything halloween and anything inspirational. So these little spooky guys, an the potion bottle were found at Target. I also got a little bag of skulls in a bag and put them in the centerpiece. The little guys sitting on the plates are actually a happy accident. While making the table, I just put on little guy down on the table and he landed in a sitting position. My original plan was to make some sort of hang mans noose. And use dog hair as tumbleweeds. I set another no fuss Rustic Christmas Table.  You know me by now, I am loving this holiday season as far as decorating and tablescapes go! This one is using some of the same elements that I did a couple of days ago. I wanted to prove to my inner voice that you don't have to rip your entire table apart to set a different one. I also wanted to prove I could get it done today, even with my impromptu stop at Bed Bath & Beyond my budget. Ok, it wasn't so impromptu, I knew I needed to go. I am cooking a rack of pork and am hopefully going to talk my butcher into frenching it into a crown So I needed bakers string to tie it up It's not really smart of me to decide to cook this at the last minute. If they say no, or don't have any? My backup plan is pot roast. and I tried googling "How to turn pot roast into a crown of delight" Such a beautiful piece of artwork that my guests will just stare at it in glamorous awe But sadly I think I am ahead of the cooking chann......

Creating a Traditional Christmas Tablescape That is the level of ignorement I will go too, to avoid mopping the kitchen floor. Guests coming, smuests coming This is a much better way to spend my time Looking at this table, it enables me to lie to you and to myself like everything in my home is Calm and Bright Pretending there isn't an explosion of crap downstairs in my basement. Plastic tubs filled with Christmas decorations that deserve names like Thing 1 and Thing 2 Craft supplies  aka Pinterest fails Purple Crap Silver Crap Just Plain Crap Why didn't I throw this sh*t away last year crap Those seems like organized names don't they? But when you put on a label that says "crap" on something Men tend to want to throw that "female" crap away Maybe I will stick to labelless tubs of holiday "decor". So that ripping off the lid recreates the joy I once felt, in ripping the wrapping paper off a present like a 8 year old.    That says Happy Holidays......
