Decorating the Bedroom & Hallway for Christmas Decorating our master bedroom always seems like it's on the short end of the stick. As I get older and find myself retreating to this space more and more for relaxation, I am finding it a lot easier to spend some money here. I've also figured out where to spend it and where to save it. You begin to learn as you age what you really like and what you can skimp on. For example; my tree is a flocked white Walmart tree bought last year. The industrial metal salvaged box however, was not purchased at a discount store. And I love it! I love salvaged pieces I can use as multi-purpose. I know I can put them to good use. Yes I bought 2. I went back to the store a week later and bought #2. I don't know why I just followed my instincts. It's counterpart is holding some blankets underneath a chalk painted vintage sewing machine I got for literally only paid ten bucks for by our bed. I put grapevine on this tree too and it really......
Master Bedroom Decorating | My Master bedroom is slowly getting updates with every dollar I can afford to spend. I think I am off to a good start, especially on a tight budget. I went on a mission last week. I wanted to see what $60 dollars would do for me in our master Bedroom. I knew it was time to buy a new set of sheets, as my favorite set was showing signs of age. So off to several stores I went. And I scored! But I did go slightly over budget. Which is typical for me, but I got a lot of bang for my money, trust me! And of course once the bed was made, my curtains didn't fit the room anymore. Then I noticed my bedskirt was black, not a color that went with the new quilt. Then the rug I had needed to be switched out, so I swiped the grey and white striped one from the Kitchen. The bedskirt I found at Bed Bath & Beyond. Apparently it......
Black and White Color Scheme in the Master Bedroom. A fresh start for a design disaster. I will flat out admit it. I could not get the paint color right in this room for years. This room has been painted and re-painted 4 times. So I finally started fresh with a total overhaul of white paint. Every where! I'm still not done. The windows and closets need some paint and I need a new rug. But I'm close. When the bed is made I actually walk in this room and smile instead of seeing a long "Why didn't you do this" list. Here is the rundown on it: Headboard - Pier One (7 years ago) Every nightstand and dresser is an antique or thrift store find Black and White Quilt - Dollar General (yes a dollar store!) Pink throw - Target Pink pictures – Target Large heart picture - Burlington Coat Factory (it used to be in my LR) Black Lantern - Pier 1 White Lantern - Old Time Pottery White Heart scrolly thing - Home......
