Fall Decor 2019 It's Fall tour time! A classic black and white color scheme and mixing in my signature favorite color of purple is truly relaxing this time of year. It signifies that a hot season filled with weeds, sweating and having to shave my legs is coming to a close. I'm kidding about the shaving part of course but truthfully I will slow down on the razor police. Our nights here are at a cool mid sixties and I'm loving it! I went less is more for the porch. Mainly because I included a video for you as well and it gives a garden tour. I did manage a small Fall vignette out near a new Birch Tree as well for a pop of interest. I have two fiddle leaf figs that are doing very well. I hear so many people's frustration about growing these things. So far I think I am mastering it. I spotted some new growth on both of them so they love a North facing spot with only a couple hours of Sun and terracotta pots. If I were to name this scheme I would have named it the year of t......
I thought a tour of my kitchen would be appropriate before I completely change it with another small renovation to get it updated. Well, the first few pics are going to show you my kitchen before. In real life I am ready to start doing the long awaited paint process, but I am trying to decide if it would be easier to paint the cabinets first, then the walls or vice versa. Notice the vent hood over the stove because down below you'll see we took it out. You can notice the ebony stained cabinets too, because pretty soon they will be a different color. I may buy new hardware too. Ok I know I am gong too, my current handles are underwhelming. Say goodbye to the wall color between the upper and lower cabinets. A new backsplash has been installed. I call these changes stage 1. A easy and fairly quick way for do it yourselfer's to update the kitchen without spending a ton of money. We raised the cabinet above the stove to accommodate a new microwave vent hood combo. We took......
Hi Friends! I am happy to be sharing my Christmas Tour in the Living Room today. I am extremely happy with it this year as I took my time and I think it turned out pretty dramatic. I also like to think you won't see this tree anywhere else. Each year I challenge myself to redecorate using old and new things with a twist, so that my style is always evolving and growing. Now that doesn't mean I go out an buy all new ornaments every year, but I do like to update and add to my collections. This year I bought a lot of galvanized decor. Houses, large metal gift tags and signs. I bought a huge one that you will see in an up coming post. It's in my entryway. I did the rustic theme this year for my tree. I mixed in brown peacock feathers, galvanized houses and lacy moss covered ribbon. I also utilized some camouflage ribbon also. Surprisingly it works really well! Can you see find it? You can see it better on this side I found large metal gift tags from a local craft stor......
