The Fall color that northwest Indiana has been getting this year has been just incredible. I have been snapping some photos with my new Canon camera. Yes I bought a new one to accompany my cell phone to just compare and see how good a videographer or photographer I can be. When I feel like it that is. I am still watching every video and reading manual after manual of my new Canon Rebel T6i. I bought a kit that came with several lenses and filters plus a two tripods and other various gadgets I don't think I'll use, but you never know. I am the girl several years ago who said right here on this blog I'll never spend that much time taking pictures or editing my photos. And look how that has turned out. I am still a beginner with figuring out how and when to use what lenses. It is going to take my blonde brain years to figure this out but if I can get 4 good shots every time I shoot, then I will be satisfied. Not happy, but satisfied. DIY a project I had the garage door replaced late this Summer and after the install I saw a few things around the garage that the new door was making look really dated and how long it had been since the trim around the door got a coat of paint. So, out came the brush and ladder before the temperature got too cold to paint. I put three coats of primer/paint on the trim and while doing this project, I got to thinking how happy I was that we paid someone else to do this job. You know, instead of us having to use our day off to do it? It occurred to me what a benefit that is. It also got me wondering are there jobs homeowners should or should not do, when it comes to home improvement projects? If I had my way, a lot of the projects that are done around here would be done by professionals. Like cutting in when you're painting. I hate that job. Or sanding drywall after it's been mudded. Fall Garden Tour It definitely starts to feel like Fall when the leaves turn colors and the squirrels go crazy. They are hoarding everything in sight here in my  NW Indiana Garden. I'm surprised they haven't planted the faux pumpkins on my porch. Anyway, I have put together over 20 pictures of my entire yard showing some Fall color and also the changes we have made this year.  So grab a drink and let's stroll. Above and below you see we enlarged the garden bed in the front to extend down the west side of the house. I am testing out the theory of: Just scalp the grass and cover it with landscape fabric and a new bed will be ready for next year. We'll see!  I'm excited to block out the last of my neighbors yard.
